Here, you can find Shenzhen’s landmark Ferris wheel, the city’s most beautiful bookstore, fun children’s playgrounds, beaches, skateparks, and photogenic parks. It’s the perfect spot for couples or family outings; you could spend a whole day here and still not get enough. Oh Bay is a nationally recognized 4A tourism site in China.

“Bay Light” Ferris Wheel

The “Bay Light” Ferris Wheel, positioned at the easternmost part of Oh Bay, is the first full-panoramic capsule Ferris wheel in China and the tallest in Shenzhen’s skies. As it slowly rotates, visitors can enjoy a sweeping view of the Qianhai scenery. The best time to visit is from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Water Show Performance

The water show and fountain performances at Oh Bay take place daily in the Celebration Square, featuring the theme “Dream of Kunpeng,” reflecting Shenzhen’s city spirit. The water, music, and animations bring to life nine thematic scenes including “Origin, Starry Sea, and Joyous Ocean.”

  • Music Fountain: Located at Celebration Square, usual performance times are 7:30 PM to 7:45 PM, with additional shows on weekends and holidays from 8:30 PM to 8:45 PM.
  • “Dream of Kunpeng”: Performances are also in Celebration Square, typically from 8:00 PM to 8:15 PM, with extra performances on weekends and holidays from 9:00 PM to 9:15 PM.

Zhongshuge Bookstore

One of Shenzhen’s most beautiful bookstores, Zhongshuge integrates urban culture with modern design. Spanning over 1,100 square meters with a collection of 45,000 books, it’s a cultural gem in the city. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a spiral staircase of shelves that seems to weave like a ribbon through the space, creating a photogenic and literary atmosphere.

Seaside Cultural Park

Seaside Cultural Park is divided into three thematic areas: central cultural theme, eastern art theme, and western sports theme. The Celebration Square, the main entrance to the park, regularly hosts music festivals, drama festivals, and art exhibitions. Romantic and beautiful water and light shows also take place here. The eastern part of the park focuses on art, with varied landscapes and artistic installations enhancing the experience. The western part is geared towards sports, featuring an Olympic-standard skatepark, a lively children’s playground, and Bay Beach for year-round family fun.

How to Get to Oh Bay from Downtown Shenzhen

Subway

Depart from downtown Shenzhen and take the Subway Line 5 directly to Linhai Station. Exit from Gate B2 and walk about 800 meters to reach Oh Bay. This trip costs 6 RMB and takes approximately 50 minutes. The subway is a convenient mode of transportation that is best for travelers not in a rush.

Taxi/Ride-hailing

Taking a taxi or using a ride-hailing service from downtown Shenzhen to Oh Bay takes about 40 minutes and costs around 60 RMB. This option is faster and more comfortable, particularly suitable for those in a hurry or traveling with more luggage.


How to Get to Oh Bay from Shenzhen Bao’an Airport

Subway

Starting from Shenzhen Bao’an Airport, take the Subway Line 11 directly to Bao’an Station. From there, you can either walk or take another mode of transportation to Oh Bay. The subway journey costs 4 RMB and takes about 40 minutes, making it ideal for individuals or small groups looking for an economical travel option.

Taxi/Ride-hailing

A taxi or ride-hailing service from Shenzhen Bao’an Airport to Oh Bay is the quicker option, typically taking about 30 minutes and costing approximately 40 RMB. This method is convenient for those looking for a speedy trip, especially for families or those with more luggage.
